Jürgen Habermas is Germany’s leading public intellectual. He has made significant contributions in a number of fields in philosophy and social theory. His recent work has focused on the dialogue between science and religion and the future of the European project. In his latest book, The Crisis of the European Union: A Response, Habermas argues for the creation of a “supranational democracy” in Europe.
