Journalists Katie Herzog and Jesse Singal seek out the most feverish and inflammatory things online—the latest people to be cancelled, publicly shamed or generally set the internet aflame—and try to see the funny side and provide some perspective. They take a left-leaning view, but at heart they’re mostly just witty internet cynics who are nevertheless addicted to being online, and try to find interesting insights about human nature in amongst the “dumpster fires” of rage and nonsense.
Black Women Working
Black Women Working, which launched in 2019, centres black British women talking about employment and careers in the UK, with discussions covering rates of earnings, discrimination, career progression, microaggressions and more. The four-strong presenting team of Natalie, Tolu, Chantelle and Rachel—from a range of professional backgrounds including law, teaching, management and the arts—have created a space for conversations about equality and diversity, and for black women to share experiences and ideas for how best to succeed at work.

New cults spring up all the time and exploit people in new ways, while mostly using the same ancient techniques of manipulation, induced euphoria and peer pressure. This fascinating podcast explores various specific cults and tells the stories of how they got started and grew their followings, how they practise and recruit, and who the leaders are.
