John Everard served with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for 27 years, and was ambassador to North Korea (2006-2008). From 2011-2012 he was Coordinator of the UN Security Council's Panel of Experts on North Korea. He now writes, broadcasts and lectures on international affairs.
