David W Lesch is the Ewing Halsell Distinguished Professor of History at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. He is the author or editor of 16 books, his most recent being Syria: A Modern History (Polity Press, 2019) and The Arab-Israeli Conflict: A History (Oxford University Press, 2019).
