Sir Harold Atcherley served in the Army throughout WW2, becoming a PoW of the Japanese. He resumed his career with the Royal Dutch Shell Group, serving in the Middle East & South America. He has been a Government advisor, and has served as Chairman of the Armed Forces Pay Review body, the Police Negotiating Board, and Toynbee Hall. He now lives in London
